Suppose that a license service is started on
licenseserver, and you want to ensure that port
27000 is open on the network. One way to check is to attempt to access http://licenseserver:27000 in a web browser. You should get a response like this if it is working:
However, if you get a "Page cannot be displayed" or "Unable to connect" error, you will need to open the port in your Firewall settings.
If the license service is stopped, and no other program/service is using the port, the browser will also say that it cannot connect.
If you get a response on the server but not the client, it is possible that the server and client are on different sub-networks, and the port is blocked between the sub-networks.
