When starting Maple, the error
Could not create the Java virtual machine
is a fairly generic message. There are number of possibilities for the source of the problem, including:
- The Java heap size is too low.
- The version of Java that your system uses is incompatible with the version that comes packaged with Maple. A Java swap should resolve this, but uninstalling and then reinstalling Maple may be needed.
- The C:\Program Files\Maple 2019\bin.X86_64_WINDOWS\maplelauncher.exe file may be corrupted, or have been deleted. Re-installing Maple (possibly with a fresh installer file) is recommended.
The C:\Program Files\Maple 2019\jre folder may be corrupted, or have been deleted. Once again, a Java swap should resolve this, but re-installing Maple (possibly with a fresh installer file) may be necessary.
- Your graphics drivers are incompatible, and an update/roll-back may be required.
